What is a pinboard?

A pinboard or cork board is, in simple terms, a board or rigid foam panel to which papers can be attached using drawing pins, needles or push pins for presentation or organisational purposes. Documents can therefore be arranged so that they are visible and readily accessible. There are also versions made from natural cork, for example with a wooden frame. Traditional pinboards are often made from cork. Other models and combination boards are also available. Pinboards may also be referred to as memo boards or moderation boards. What is a pinboard used for?

Metal pinboard

Another option is a pinboard or memo board with a metal surface. Magnets are used with this type of board to attach papers or notes. Felt pinboard

Another option is a pinboard with a felt surface. Depending on the material, small pinholes may become less visible over time. Depending on the design, the felt surface may have water-repellent and dimensionally stable properties. On appropriately specified models, the surface may also offer increased UV resistance. The boards are available with different frame designs. Some pinboards, for example, feature an aluminium frame, while others have a wedge frame or wooden frame. Felt pinboards are available in different designs and colours and can therefore also add decorative accents. Pinboard accessories

If the pinboard is made from cork, you will need pins or drawing pins to attach notes. Drawing pins are available in various designs and colours. For a memo board with a writable magnetic surface, a suitable marker is also required. Depending on the surface, the writing can then be removed with an appropriate cloth or sponge.
